Planners Looking For A Change?

When looking to make a change we feel there are a few questions you need to ask to make the right change:

  • What is the reputation of the new firm? How long have they been in business?
  • What type of business does the new firm specialize in, and how will they add value to you practice?
  • What is the view of the compliance department on the various types of business that you transact? Make sure you have a conversation with the head of compliance to hear it from "the horses mouth."
  • Look at the firm's U4 to determine any issues that they have had with FINRA.
  • How many reps do they have?
  • What types of business do their advisors do?
  • What is the staff to rep ratio, to determine service levels?
  • What is the average experience of the back office?
  • What are their monthly fees, (technology fee, E&O, affiliation fees)?
  • What is their payout range?
  • How strong is their transition team? How many do they have and how many advisors have they transitioned?
  • Will they offer on site transition help?
  • Will their compliance be OSJ or home office driven?
  • Do they have a Unique Selling Proposition?
